Andrea_r, thank you for the response. Regarding the second point, you're signd on to all wordpress.com sites, but you're not a *user* of all wordpress.com sites, no?

This is correct. You only become a 'user' of a WordPress.com site when you're added. Otherwise, if you comment, you are a 'subscriber'. If you're Super Admin or such, you're always able to log in...
